It seems that all the morning time news information show personalities are calling it quits. I wonder why? First, Katie Couric, then rumors circulated that Matt Lauer was giving up his daytime morning gig. We later found out that he's staying, and now we add Meredith Vieira to the pack, but she's really leaving.
Meredith Vieira left ABC's 'The View' in 2006 to replace Katie Couric. Katie went to the CBS Evening News. Vieira will leave the 'Today Show' in June.
"After months of personal reflection and private conversation with my family and friends, I've decided to leave Today in June," she said on Monday's broadcast.. "Time ... keeps ticking away and I want to spend more with my husband Richard and my kids Ben, Gabe and Lily."
Ann Curry will be Vieira's replacement. Now here's the interesting part. A recent TVGuide.com poll was done and 60 percent of voters stated they wanted Vieira gone and wanted her replaced by Curry. I guess America has spoken.
