4th Of July Celebration In Baton Rouge LA


Looking for something to do on the 4th of July?  Well may be this will help...

8 a.m. CST: 
BASF Freedom Mile—Runners take your mark!  Join the Club South Runners for four one-mile races and a ½-mile fun run from Hollywood Casino to the USS KIDD.  Contact the Club South Runners and Mr. Ben Cherbonnier at 225-927-9200 for registration information, race applications, and age group race times.

12 p.m. (noon) CST:
Food & Drink Booths Open! Ice cream, pizza, hamburgers, funnel cakes and spicy Cajun cuisine. Soft drinks, beer, & bottled water.

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. CST:
Tour the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial--Walk the decks of one of America's most outstanding historic vessels: the USS KIDD (DD-661). Explore the Veterans Memorial Museum and learn of the sacrifices made by our nation's veterans to insure the freedoms we celebrate on the Fourth. $8.00 for ages 13 & up... $5.00 ages 5 -12... $7.00 for seniors 60 & up...

6:10 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. CST:
Fly-Over of F-15 Eagle Fighters of the Louisiana Air National Guard!  This is a reenactment of the USS KIDD being under attack by vintage World War II aircraft! The kids will enjoy this! It's open to the public and can be viewed from the riverfront adjacent to the Main Stage.

9 p.m. CST:

Of course to gather around and view the fireworks is absolutely free, but if you would to be front and center and view the fireworks from the USS KIDD, you can! Come aboard the USS KIDD and view one of the largest fireworks displays in Louisiana. Tickets are $10.00 per person and supplies are limited. Call 225.342.1942 for more information.

All this great fun is taking place in downtown Baton Rouge on Monday, July 4th!
