How will Oprah end the 'Oprah Winfrey' show? How you thought about it? More than likely you haven't but for millions of her fans, this is a question that burns deep within their soul. Now I know that might sound a little bit far fetched or over the top, but love her or hate her, Oprah has been at the top of her game for the last 25 years!
The show has 15 episodes left as of today, May 5th.
Winfrey's producers plan a star-studded, double taping on May 17 at Chicago's United Center. The shows will air May 23 and 24, as Winfrey's second and third-to-last episodes.
The show is dubbed "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular." Winfrey hates surprises, producers say, but she has agreed to this event.
Winfrey has a slew of celebrity friends who have appeared repeatedly on her talk show. John Travolta. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Jennifer Aniston. Chris Rock.
The Black Eyed Peas could perform, as they did when Winfrey shut down Chicago's Michigan Avenue in 2009. Many presidents and world leaders: Bill Clinton; George W. Bush; Nelson Mandela. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have already appeared on a special show that aired Monday.
And Winfrey has other well-respected friends who could be possibilities: Maya Angelou; Sidney Poitier; Barbara Walters. Not to mention Winfrey's proteges, who she fostered to their own television stardom, such as Mehmet Oz, Phil McGraw and Nate Berkus.
Harpo Productions received more than 154,000 ticket requests for seats to the event — the United Center's capacity is about 20,000. There was a lottery for seats.
One things for sure is the final show will be one for the record books. I know I'll be tuning in. I feel a slight connection to the Oprah show. Oprah has opened doors and done things that I feel in a sense will make my road to entertainment success more reachable. Of course my faith is in God and not man, but I do believe that when you go through things in life, good or bad that your life and life's lessons can be an aid or testimony to help others.
