Remember when Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz got together, nobody was really highlighting the fact that Beatz was still married at the time. Also, this was around the same time that Fantasia was caught up in that situation with that Antwaun Cook guy. The media was throwing bricks and boulders at Fantasia for being with a married man. In the case of Alicia and Swizz, it seemed as though their togetherness was praised. Double standard, right? I think so.
Alicia Keys spoke to Essence Magazine about how she wants people to stop calling her a home wrecker.
“We didn’t start seeing each other until months after they had separated,” Keys told Essence. “I was aware of all the false things that were being said about me it definitely hurt.”
Swizz Beatz wife at the time, Mashonda, blamed Alicia Keys for destroying her family. Mashonda expressed this to the media every chance she got. Fast forward now to the present and everything seems to be going good between Alicia, Swizz, and Mashonda. Both Alicia and Mashonda have accepted each other's roles in their children's lives. That's a good thing ladies, no fighting!
